Last night, the #6 seeded Hmm.. Spandex claimed the championship in our Sacramento Setter Volleyball league in dramatic fashion.

This season, two very powerful teams dominated the monday night setter league but last night belonged to the underdogs, #6 seeded Hmm Spandex. On playoff night, the very athletic Hmm Spandex team swept their opponents, #3 Irish Setters and #2 "Team B" earning them a spot in the championship match. Then they eventually downed the top seeded team, Something Purple in 3 games.

After winning the Spiker league title two seasons ago when they were known as Ace in Your Face, Super Ace returned to Xoso volleyball after a season off and repeated as champs with a 2-0 win over Empire Spikes Back. The road back to the championship was rocky as Super Ace (5-3 regular season) managed to squeeze into the playoffs with a 3-0 win in the final week of the regular season and were awarded the #3 seed. Riding their late season momentum, they knocked off #2 Smokin' Aces (6-2) in the first round of the playoffs 2-0.

Sacramento, CA - In the Bumper League volleyball playoffs last night, Sets with Strangers faced off with Fireball Bob in the semi-finals. Sets with Strangers came in as the top seeded team, and won the first two games to take the match.

In the other semi-final match, between Kiss My Pass and Served Red Hot, Served Red Hot won the first game, only to see Kiss My Pass rally back to tie the match at one game apiece. Served Red Hot answered back in the third and final game, to meet Sets with Strangers in the championship.

On Tuesday night, with sweat dripping in the air (yes, that's how it felt) two teams wrapped up the Xoso Sacramento Winter 2011 Volleyball season with a win.
